EXPANSION OF ALCASA PHASE VI Production capacity expansion (80.000 Ton/yr) of Venezuela's aluminum plant "ALUMINIOS DEL CARONI - ALCASA." MODULO CINCO structured the project's budget in order to enable control, and controlled, budgeted, committed and incurred costs at each facility level. Final cost projections have been adjusted and a detailed control of civil work is in progress. EXPANSION OF CABELUM, CIUDAD BOLIVAR Expansion of aluminum wires production capacity to 62,000 Ton/yr. MODULO CINCO executed a preliminary cost estimate and erection Master Plan based on basic engineering design data. Then a project budget was developed and detailed construction programs for each facility. Activities included Design, Procurement, Construction and Installation. LAMINATION EXPANSION -ALCASA Expansion of the lamination line for hard sheet metal to 60000 Yr/Yr. MODULO CINCO was in charge of control budget breakdown to reflect budgeted, committed and incurred costs. Final costs projections were adjusted periodically. ALCASA - GUACARA LAMINATION PLANT EXPANSION Capacity expansion of foil production to 12000 Tons/yr consisting of the installation of a continuous batch furnace and different types of laminators. MODULO CINCO implemented a system that reflected the project's contracting process status comparing it to the plan. SIDETUR STEEL MILL - PTO. ORDAZ An enlargement of the steel-mill property of SIDETUR (a subsidiary of the Sivensa group) in Pto. Ordaz. The project includes the construction of an industrial bay and the installation of an electric arc furnace and a continuous batch. MODULO CINCO implemented a system to control the project's budget and monitored and updated project costs. Control included budget breakdown for control, expediting contracting processes, final costs projection, as well as monitoring and updating contract execution. MODULO CINCO formed a Joint Venture for this project with the firm "Kelemen and Kelemen and Bilbao", which in turn is responsible for the project's progress control. SIDETUR ROLLING MILL A rolling mill for steel billets in Pto. Ordaz, property of SIDETUR - SIVENSA Group. MODULO CINCO has implemented a system for controlling the project's total budget during the engineering, procurement, construction phases, as well as during the erection of the mill. Control includes the breakdown of the project's control budget, monitoring and expediting of engineering, procurement and contract execution, and final costs projection. MODULO CINCO formed a Joint Venture for this project with Kelemen and Kelemen and Bilbao, the firm responsible for the project's progress control. SIDETUR SCRAP IRON SHREDDER Construction of all civil work (buildings, facilities, roads, etc) and installation of a scrap iron shredder in SIDETUR'S plant in Barquisimeto. As in the previous projects, MODULO CINCO was responsible for cost control and Kelemen and Kelemen and Bilbao was in charge of progress control. SIDETUR LAMINATION EXTENSION AND MODERNIZATION Total project investment, including buildings, facilities, and equipment. Breakdown structure of project's control budget included budgeted, committed and incurred costs. Cost control and final costs projections were done. PROPILENE PLANT Petrochemical plant located in El Tablazo, Estado Zulia. MODULO CINCO executed for CONSORCIO TPL - INELECTRA - DIT HARRIS a completion program of the plan and performed progress monitoring.   TOYOTA - CUMANA PLANT MODULO CINCO performed together with VENEZOLANA DE AVALUOS an inventory of production and administrative facilities, production equipment and auxiliary facilities for an appraisal of the value of the plant. LABORATORIO BEHRENS-PROYECTO R It consists of the installation of a new line of physiological solution production for hospitals. The line was installed in unoccupied areas of the main office of the Laboratories in Chapellín, Caracas, in a building more than 50 years old. For this work, an area of approximately 1,500 m2, had to be demolished. It was necessary to make modifications and reinforcements of foundations and of the structure of the building. New electricity, mechanical, sanitary and safety facilities were made for the new areas and floors, walls and ceilings were modified as well. All this was carried while the rest of the plant continued operating. MODULO CINCO acted as Project Manager; planning, coordinating, supervising activities of design, supply and construction. INYECTOPLAS / ALMACENADORA CONTINENTAL An industrial complex located in Guarenas. Engineering and construction were controlled simultaneously according to owner's requirements. Scope of work included time, cost and quality control. CONSTRUCENTRO An industrial building with a gross construction area of 9,000 sqm located in the Zona Rental de la Universidad Metropolitana. MODULO CINCO executed a detailed construction program in order to shorten delivery time to 5 months. During construction progress monitoring was performed. A similar work was provided for the PUERTO LA CRUZ store. VITREGLAS An industrial plant located in La Victoria, Estado Aragua, which produces fiberglass. MODULO CINCO was responsible for control during construction and equipment installation phases. CARACAS - TUY - VALENCIA - PTO. CABELLO RAILROAD Ferrocar, Venezuela's railroad institute is undertaking a nationwide railroad enterprise. MODULO CINCO has provided project control support as a tool for management during the studies and preliminary design phases. TELCEL TELCEL is one of the two oldest companies to provide mobile communications in Venezuela. The initial network started operations in late 1991. MODULO CINCO worked in the planning, programming and monitoring of the construction of the infrastructure required to start operations in Caracas, Valencia and Maracaibo that consisted of cell sites, antennas and MTSOs. Later on created a unit price database that could be updated periodically and used to standardize bids and contracts. At the same time it assisted TELCEL revising budgets presented by general contractors during the execution of the so-called PLAN CORE CARACAS. BARALT - CATIA - PROLONGATION OF BOYACA AVENUE A thorough investigation of all dwellings under 30.000 dollars located in Caracas and its surroundings (Los Teques, Valles del Tuy, Guarenas, Guatire) was done by MODULO CINCO with the purpose of establishing alternatives for relocating affected families by the execution of this project. This investigation was done at the request of the Ministry of Transportation and Communication and included: Housing availability classified by price, sales facilities, financial aid, minimum required income and monthly payments. In addition to this, a socio-economic survey of the affected areas was processed, in order to obtain a profile of the families involved.
